After numerous lockdowns all around the world. People experienced various unimaginable things from online classes, to work from home, to unbroken solitude. For some people it was opening new doors for opportunities, and time so they can make precious memories with their loved ones, and for some people it was a complete distress.
The pandemic changed us all physically and also the way people
perceive the world. People now know the importance of going out for a walk and hanging
out with their friends. Apart from all these things we have all changed in the
physical aspects as well.
Teeth
Due to the lockdown the appointments that people made with their
dentists all got canceled. Most of the people did not see their dentist for
almost about two years. This means that the dental issues people faced were
looked at after so long and would require more extensive treatments
Due to the increase of frustration and depression that
people faced during the pandemic, there were increase in the cases of bruxism
because of teeth grinding and clenching, and there was a similar rise in
cracked and chipped teeth which results in tooth grinding.
Eyes
Due to the increase of screen time, because of the excessive
use of Netflix. People are experiencing dry eyes. This excessive screen time
makes the eyes scratchy and blurry and also this increases the risk of short
sightedness. However, there is no proven evidence that screens are the cause of
short sightedness. Short sightedness is caused by focusing continuously on something
so close to the face
Things that can help are blinking a lot when looking at the
screen, and taking regular breaks to look at something at the distance.
Hair
Dermatologists have seen cases of post-Covid hair loss in
the clinics. These are happening because of high temperatures and loss of
appetite in patients during the corona periods. They also state that due to the
people experiencing anxiety and increased amount of stress could also be the
cause of hair loss and dry scalp. The pandemic lifestyle is also caused a
disruption in the normal hair growth and shedding cycles, but there is nothing
to be worried about as the experts say that this hair loss is recoverable.
Heart
People have noticed an increase in their heart conditions
during corona period. This could be the result of diet and exercise routine disruptions
and also hard to reach medical facilities
Each delay in the visit to medical facility causes a
snowball effect. Which can result in the rise risk of liver and heart disease. Canceling
of procedures, missing of appointments and growing waiting lists have already
resulted to thousands more deaths from heart diseases and strokes during the
pandemic
Stomach
Gastroenterologists have noticed an increase in conditions
like (IBS) irritable bowel syndrome. Experts say that the gut and the brain
interacts very closely and that gut disorders can be a major consequence of
stress and anxiety. The pandemic and the lockdown has resulted in fewer people
seeing the doctor for symptoms like breaking wind and diarrhea, and by the time
people are diagnosed, most of the time the symptoms are more severe than they would
have been in the ordinary conditions.
Skin
A sudden increase in skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema
and psoriasis has been noticed by the dermatologists all over the globe. These skin
conditions are worsening due to the pandemic and increased amount of stress,
because stress equals flare-ups. More frequent hand washing and bathing is
noticed due to the result of hygiene conscious people. This results in drying
and cracks in the skin because of the loss of moisture and then bacteria can
get in and can cause inflammation.
Feet
Some people are reporting that their feet have spread and
that their shoes no longer fit. One hypothetical cause could be that when we
are working from home feet are deprived of their usual supportive shoes. Foot specialists
say that there has been an increase in painful arch areas, ankles
Experts also state that these injuries have resulted from
the change in the activity type and changing up new activities such as running.
